Tuesday 6th - Friday 9th December 2022
The Royal Geographical Society, London, United Kingdom
Tuesday 6th - Friday 9th December 2022
Day 1 - Tuesday 6th December - Cardiac Arrest Symposium
Day 2 - Wednesday 7th December - Pre hospital Critical Care Conference
– delivered in partnership with the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation
Day 3 - Thursday 8th December - Trauma Conference (Day 1)
Day 4 - Friday 9th December - Trauma Conference (Day 2)
We are delighted that after a long break due to COVID travel restrictions that LTC is back and better than ever. We have a great Faculty lined up for all four days and early indications that we will be joined by delegates from all over the world.
The basic format has consistently received overwhelmingly positive feedback so we have kept it the same for you.
Day 1 (Tuesday 6th December) is the Cardiac Arrest Symposium Chaired by Professor Jerry Nolan, Past ERC Chair and Editor in Chief of Resuscitation.
The second day (Wednesday 7th December) will be the Pre-hospital Critical Care day hosted by the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation. The important theme of major incidents will start in the last session of the day and continue in the first session of the next day.
The last two days (Thursday 8th and Friday 9th December) are dedicated to Trauma. The programme will cover core clinical material but also big picture talks on organisation, performance and quality improvement. Our keynote speakers are pioneers in their fields and will provide thought provoking presentations on key elements of acute care practice. They include Professor Kenji Inaba from Los Angeles – with an unusual background in trauma surgery, academia and law enforcement, Dr Kevin Fong an intensivist, air ambulance doctor and well known broadcaster who held a national role in the recent pandemic and Professor Jocelyn Bloch who has made exciting and well publicised progress on the incredibly difficult problem of spinal cord injury.
We believe that our delegates and speakers are more than ready for a face-to-face event and the opportunity to network and socialise in London. We will therefore not be making the event hybrid or online. To minimise unnecessary travel for short talks one excellent speaker will be joining us on three afternoons from the US – Professor Jeffrey Upperman from Los Angeles, Professor Clif Calloway from Pittsburgh and Professor Andre Campbell from San Francisco.
During the week other events are planned – we are planning a Military Surgery Symposium on Wednesday and Scientific Abstracts* will be displayed during the event (*further details regarding Abstract Submission will be release shortly) . Stand up Science on Thursday evening will be a chance to socialise and hear some of the researchers present in an informal environment.
We really hope to see you in December,
David Lockey
